- 55HP 4WD KAMA 554 and 4 x 4 Jinma 284
Hi guys,
Thought I'd share our next project for Loretta's 284 Jinma.
We ordered a 48" Markham toothbar with 6 teeth instead of the standard 5 teeth on it. Reason being on the 5 tooth model, the 2 teeth next to the center tooth would interfere with the grapple jaw tips in case I reposition the grapple so the tips go below the cutting edge a little. The 6 tooth model has spaces where the jaw tips are, so the toothbar and tips can be sort of interlocking. This is more so the grapple tips can stick out a little for easier grasping of shrubs, rocks and debris, which is what she'll be doing most with her Jinma.
I thought about making one, but kind of ran out of time to get a cutting edge and order the teeth. My savings on making an item like this was not very much. The price I paid was extremely reasonable from Markham. They were lower than what I saw on eBay or other places. Plus they made it with the teeth spaced the way we wanted. They are a good outfit and their product is excellent. I've had their toothbar on my Kama for nearly 3 years now.
We'll be putting it on this next trip up to the property. I'll take some snapshots of the installation later.
