I've got MF 1225 Hydro that has a rear and mid PTO with the belly mower.
I got it without the mid PTO working and the 3 wires on the PTO switch where disconnected- I never checked the rear PTO at the time. I just knew that the deck wouldn't mow.
In doing my troubleshooting, I determined the power wire at the switch and the other wire that operated the relay. Also, the relay was/is working and I get 12v to the solenoid. The old solenoid was open, so I replaced it with a new one. Also, the original switch was missing, so I just replaced it with a single pole, double throw. On-off-on
Now, when I operate the switch, I can hear a slight change in the sound of the hydraulics-like the solenoid is working and putting some sort of load on the system, but the PTO never turns. I can turn it freely by hand. When I started the troubleshooting, I think that it was not able to be turned.
Also, I have not been able to get the rear PTO working either. I can also turn it freely by hand.
So it may just be an operational thing I am not doing right that is not engaging either of them.
So, a few questions if I may.
What is the 3rd wire at the PTO switch? I have not connected it to the switch.
There is a lever that looks like it reverses the direction of the PTO. Does that reverse the mid, rear or both?
Are there any safety interconnects? The seat switch had already been disconnected and the mower will move forwards and backwards.
