update, have a Massey 1540 power shuttle. bell housing was full of hydraulic fluid. I empty the fluid. Started the tractor, clutch depress, out of gear, neutral on shuttle. Fluid started coming out. shut off the engine fluid stopped. So its not the output shaft seal. But something to do with the power shuttle. At this point 90% sure I cracked the housing.

Figure not to many have this tractor or have done any in depth work on one, but thought I would put it out for ideas before I split.

Wow.

When you say it's not the output shaft seal are you referring to the engine crankshaft seal?? If it were, then wouldn't it quit leaking when the engine is shut off?

Wouldn't the power shuttle system apply fluid pressure to the trans input shaft seal when engine is running?

I have a feeling there's much more to this story. Explain why you are 90% sure you cracked the housing??

since it s hydraulic fluid its not coming from the engine, but from tranny. only 1 shaft coming out of the tranny that goes into the clutch, its not that seal. since engine has to run to leak, pressure form clutch pack must be leaking thought a crack in the case. The pack is in the tranny but no part of it penetrates to the bell housing.
