massey 1540 with power shuttle is leaking fluid from the transmission vent tube.

massey 1540 with power shuttle is leaking fluid from the transmission vent tube. Tractor operates fine, maybe a little slower on the shuttle.

Not sure what would cause this. maybe a crack in the casting???

I don't know exactly how that is setup. This is comparing Apple's to oranges. Allis Chalmers would have some seals go bad and push fluid into the transmission and overfill the transmission. The correct fix was to split the tractor and put in New seals. There are a lot of them running around with the transmission and hydraulics plumbed together ( known as a dirty fix). Maybe something similar going on with your massey. Good luck.
