Howdy folks. Ordered some replacement running boards for my 1655, as they are getting rusty. Over the years I have had them off and cleaned them up, painted them. Removed them the other day, and was horrified when I saw the condition of the frame where it bolts on. I chisled, chipped, scaled, and wire wheeled the rust out of the effected areas. The pictures may not show the depth of the rot, but it is half the width of the frame in some spots. I have since then just painted over it to keep it from rusting further. My question is, should I really do any thing about it? Fill it in with some welding beads is what I was thinking, or just leave it alone and try to make sure it doesnt rust further? Any Ideas?
