So, I sold my TC40 a couple of months ago and wanted to get a 30hp newer tractor to go with my Massey 2860m. I looked at and drove/tested JD 3038E, 3035D, 2032R, used 3520, Kubota L3302, LX2610, used B2601, Kioti CK3520, CX2510, Yanmar yt235 and LS MT225S, MT242H.
I went all over the place and kept going back to the Massey. For me it was the best bang for the value. It is a shuttle shift, 8x8. The loader is smooth as butter and the tractor has good weight to it. My bigger tractor is HST and I looked at the HST version but glad I went with the shuttle since the 2860m is HST. I have 20 hours on it so far and drive it all over the place. Big reason for going with the shuttle on this tractor was the distances traveled. I graded my 1/2 mile shared drive with the land plane and this tractor fits the bill perfectly for that. I like how it is smaller than my TC40 was but close to the same weight and almost same power.
I really thought I was going to regret getting rid of the TC40 but after 20 hours on this new tractor, I am happy. Very manueverable and the loader is better than the one on my TC40. Massey knows how to make a good loader. In the end it came down to the Kubota LX2610, Deere 2032r and the Massey 1e.35. Almost bought the LX2610 but got worried about the 25hp. The Deere was just to expensive for what it was but the most comfortable machine I sat on. All in all I just liked the form, fit, function and strength of the Massey the best. All were nice machines.
Best advice is you really need to test drive all machines more than once and go with with your gut. If you want to know anything else about this tractor, let me know. Not much out there on them.
