I have had a Massey 250 about 3 weeks now and am slowly working through a few issues. I have ordered a shop manual but it has not arrived yet.
With 9 degrees here last night, I determined this morning that the thermostart is not working. It has power to the thermostart confirmed with an volt meter when the ignition switch is held against spring tension just prior to the start position but there is not heat detected by touch at the manifold. I have not loosened the fuel line to check that yet because I really need to move the loader off to do that or to replace the thermostart itself.
Also, there is a panel of about 5 indicator lights on the dash. The far left one is orange/red and seems to be the charge light (no ammeter). It is on when switched and then goes off once the motor starts and hits around 1000 rpm. Next to it is another indicator light that comes on before starting and then goes off. There are two more next to that that have never come on but I have confirmed that the bulbs are good by switching them out. The far right seems to be blue and may be a high beam but the front headlights don"t seem to go into high based on the light switch.
Any advice on best way to test the thermostart before removing it?
Anyone can tell me what the idiot lights are and perhaps how to locate and test their respective sensors?
