I have an 1984 MF250 with a Sankey cab and MF875 loader. The PTO is operated by a lever on the left hand side beside the seat. It doesn't appear to require any foot operated clutch so I guess it must be hydraulic but I have I know nothing about this type of PTO system.

Can anybody enlighten me as to the best way to operate equipment attached to the PTO and what kind of things to watch out for. I notice that sometimes, the PTO doesn't engage, so I back off the throttle and try again, it often works the second time but I don't know why.

Also, as I cannot disengage temporarily by depressing the clutch are there any built in safety features of this system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Rich.
