Massey 250

New to this forum and new owner of a used Massey 250 Diesel, Couple of questions, the steering has about a 1/4 turn of play in it and it only has 2660 hours. Is there a fix to this or can I add shims to the gear box or any other fixes for taking some of this play out?

Second of all, it has factory internal hydraulics and a rear remote. I bought a used 232 loader and wondering if I can plumb into the tractor instead of using the external pump that came with the loader?

What type of power steering do you have on it?

I have the system with the hydraulic cylinders at the front corners. No power steering pump

The free play might be a part of the power steering, du you have the servo valve just below the dashboard 8n the steering column?

I know my 263 performs really well in the steering department when it’s 100% air free. I keep having leaks pop up here and there and I have to always check level prior to operation. If the oil gets low or aerated I lift the front, add oil, steer back and forth fully, add oil, repeating over and over until it’s good.
