Massey 5465 Dyna-4 Clutch Pedal Problems

Hi!

After having problems with my MF5465 Dyna-4 i found at the problem was related to the bottom-of-clutch switch (BOC). The faulty part had replacement 4374044M1, which combines both BOC and safety switch in one solid state switch.

However, after replacing the part, I became aware that the clutch does not fully disengage when completely pressed. If I only use the Dyna-4 Powershift module you won't notice the problem - but as soon as you try to de-clutch using the clutch pedal the tractor keeps moving.

How can I calibrate the clutch pedal travel with my MF 5465 Dyna-4? The only method of calibration I have been able to find is for versions of the tractor which have tortoise/rabbit gears (which my does not). In the service manual it also says that:

Calibrating the clutch pedal
The pedal calibrates itself during use. Each time the
clutch is disengaged then re-engaged (BOC then TOC),
the Autotronic 5 gradually re-adjusts its calibration
parameters to centre the potentiometer range
correctly according to the pedal travel.

Well, the pedal does never completely disengage and it does certainly not calibrate itself automatically - I've had this problem for months.

I know nothing about 5465s nor Dyna-4 transmissions but it is urgent that you get the clutch to fully disengage when you depress the pedal (and equally important that if fully engage when you let off the pedal.) I had a brand new MF2660 delivered on which the clutch was not fully engaging when my foot was off the pedal. The pedal was kept from coming fully "up" by the fact that it was contacting the side of the console. I did not know this until the clutch was smelling from burning and it ruined the clutch. Tractor had to be torn down and broken in half to replace the clutch with less than 50 hours on it !

Make sure your dealer addresses the issue quickly.
