Massey Fergus0n 203 with 220 FEL Hydraulic Tank Dipstick. Length

. I fished the dipstick out of the hydraulic tank on a 220 FEL on a Massey Ferguson 203. I believe a 220 FEL. Tags gone off of the loader frame hydraulic tank. There is a short ball chain that goes between the filler vent cap and the dipstick.

The dipstick in the photo hangs from a short chain. I'm missing the chain and need the length of just the chain.

Well I guess that style dipstick didn't hold up well. There are probably not many left. I had the little chain but cant find it now.
I remember it being about 3" or 4" long. Ill get a chain that's about 2.5" long and a little stronger. That dipstick isn't heavy but I don't think that ball link chain is very strong. Making it a little shorter than I remember will assure a good fluid level. That will make the dipstick low level mark about 4" above the oil pickup tube for the pump.

A photo of the marks that don't really represent a lot. Both marks are about 7 to nine inches above the pump suction tube.
Its not like an engine oil dipstick tube. Not as critical.
I just went up and did some measurements and have decided to hang it from a three inch chain and a swivel. That leaves about 12" of air space above the full mark. About 8" of oil above the suction tube to the low oil level mark.
If I had thought more about it earlier this is one of those situations where { close} is good enough.
An inch or two either way wont hurt anything. Keeping it above the low mark will work

Right, I know that. Had your dipstick broken away from the chain and dropped to the bottom of the side frame reservoir? If so, how did you "fish" out the dipstick from the bottom of the frame?

I misread your question. I used a telescopic magnet on a string. The loader frame is off of the tractor. I'm cleaning it up to paint.
Found cracks to weld.
