question, need to get to light switch that is located under dash, do I need to remove steering wheel in order to remove dash MF1010 thanks for any help

The ignition switch isn't too hard to drop down without pulling the dash, and once you do that, you may find you can reach the light switch as well. You will need some patience to do this, but I think you probably can do it. Especially if you recruit someone with small hands to help out.

If you remove the dash, yes you'll need to remove the steering wheel. Remove the center cover, squirt the nut with penetrating oil once a day for several days, then try to remove the wheel. I used a cheap gear puller. Be careful not to put too much pressure on it at once. A little at a time, followed by another squirt of oil, is all you need. Eventually it will just pop loose one day when you tighten the puller another turn.

Then you'd need to unplug all the connections behind the dash and remove it. There aren't many, and the ignition can just hang down and out of the way.

I had to replace indicator bulbs on mine. If you're going to pull the dash you might want to replace them all while you're at it and save some effort later when they burn out. But note that there are two different bulb types used on the 1010. The bulbs the dealer sold me were not correct for my tractor, and I bought the ones I needed at NAPA.

Thanks will give it a try I have a friend with small hands mine are a little on the big side.........
