Massey Ferguson 135 how hard to ad 3 point backhoe?

Hello I have a old mf 135, has forks on the back that go up and down with control lever thats all factory. My question is i see online a lot 3 point backhoe attachments for older tractors, so im pretty sure there is no hydraulic hook up for a backhoe i dont see anything back there how difficult of a task would that be? I also notice that it has hydraulic steering but doesnt work. with all being said anyone know anything?

Very difficult IMHO (I used to own a 1964 MF135 diesel). The big problem is that the 135's hydraulic pump has such puny flow rate (about 4.5 gal/min), which would make BH operation very sluggish. Also 3-pt hitch mounted BHs are pretty much toys compared to BHs that are frame mounted to the tractor's main support structure. The 135 is not the best choice for a BH or for an FEL (the 135's front axle is not strong enough to handle tough FEL work).

Yeah the flow rate i was worried about and i also just overall figured it be quite a task to do with a payoff that might not be worth the effort, I really appreciate your opinion and i will keep the debate going if i should try or not or just look for a cheap actual backhoe.

X2 on the mf135 having a weak front axle. My dad has a 1974 mf135, with mf loader. He managed to break the front axle and cast pivot housing, which was replaced with one from a mf35, while stronger, requires machine work to get the whole mess to work.

You would need a loader to counter ballance the back hoe. I also agree with not using a 3ph vs sub frame mount backhoe.

Find a complete older TLB as it will be designed to work as a unit. They can be had cheap, my neighbor sold an early 80's ford backhoe tractor for $3500, in usable condition.
