Massey Ferguson 1528 steering cylinder

I just bought a mf 1528 and the ball joint on steering cylinder snapped. The joint is welded to cylinder. Has anyone had this problem, and figured a way to resolve without buying a brand new cylinder.

Only way I see that happening is to have a proper welding shop TIG a new end on......finding a shop who can properly weld the chromoly steels will be tough. Anyone who wants to MIG or Stick weld that should be a no go.
