Hey all. My dad (is a Landscaper, I work with him) and wants to possibly down size from his big JD 5310 Cab (65hp is too much) and sell/trade the 5310 and maybe his 1845C skid steer and get something smaller. Been looking at those Masseys, them seem nice but how are they for performance and such? His machine of interest for the Massey is the 1547 Cab with the 12x12 DynaQPS. I also notice Massey does not make a Self Leveling loader for those either of those models (correct if wrong). Any aftermarket SL loader available for those 2? He/we have to have a Self Leveling loader, is a must for Landscapers (lifting Pallets a lot)

I am in Landscaping and snow removal and had a 1547 cab and loader, but hydrostatic (love the hydro for a lot of loader work) and was pleased with it's performance, especially the lift capacity of the loader and 3 point hitch, I just found it to light in horsepower for snow removal, so I traded up to a 5455 Massey. I really like my 5455, but it's a little big for landscaping (great for moving skids of material around) so I just bought a 1533 cab, loader and again hydrostatic. I am pleased with these tractors, good work performance, and they seem to stand up well, for the 3 years I had the 1547, I never had it back for any repairs, mind you it only had 700hrs when I traded it. Sorry can't answer the loader question, although I'm sure there is an aftermarket company building a SL loader for them. Here's some pics of the 1547 and 5455.

I have a 1552 cab model with the 12 x 12 Dyna QPS. I haven't had it for a year yet, but I do love it. I use it for light farm work; brush hogging, tilling, land and snow plowing (1500' driveway), cutting, raking, teddering, baling hay as well. I use forks on mine a lot, but I can see where a self-leveling bucket would be good for that kind of work...I'm sure someone must make one...

Good luck!

Cool!
How do you like the DynaQPS?

I know Quicke makes a SL for 50-70 horsepower tractors.
But I'm afraid it might push the limits of the 1552. We wanna stay around 50-55hp.
