So I've been asking questions on here for a couple months as I'm in the market for a CUT TLB. I have narrowed it down to the Kioti CK3510H(5 minutes away)or LS XR3135H(80 minutes away). Both outfitted the same way, they come in at 25k +/-.

I had not looked at Massey Ferguson because their website made it seem like there weren't any tractors that fit what I was looking for and I figured very pricey. I stopped by the dealership today which is 5 minutes away and they had a 1736HST with the bigger R4 tires. That is a sweet machine. The owner is going to call me with a price hopefully tomorrow.

There are compromises in both the Kioti(no split brakes, manual PTO, cramped station, under 3000lb) and LS(low ground clearance, no linked or autothrottle, cramped station, well over an hour away, not impressed with the dealer).

Now for the problem... The 1736 seems to have none of these compromises.

HST pedals, split brakes, autothrottle, 3300lbs, high ground clearance, spacious station, etc.

Any idea how high the price tag should be on this machine?

I asked what it costs to add 1 remote and he says "oh I'm sure that's around $1000. I'd have to look. Spools are expensive.". Really? $1000 for 1 remote?

Kioti charges $410 for 2 remotes and the LS already has 2 included.

Are things MF this expensive?

I would get the Massey. (; If the price is right, . ..if you don't need all the features, and can get by with less hp, the 1726 is a bargain for the amount of tractor you get

...And yes that sounds about right for rear remotes. Especially if you are agco/ Massey Ferguson brand.
I'm not sure if everything Massey would be that much, but for an extra set of rear remotes, that's pretty much what my dealer told me as well.

You stated that the Massey is a sweet machine. If you really liked it and it fit you well and you can afford it then go with it. I would say that the Massey without the backhoe is going to be around $ 23 to 24,000. If you add the back hoe, that will probably take you up to $ 30,000 (just a rough estimate). There is nothing worse than working on a machine that you are going to feel cramped up in all the time.

WVH1977's estimate for pricing is what I see new MF 1736HST open station tractors with loaders are going for around here.

I had quotes from dealer to add 1 additional remote to both my cabbed MF1643 and MF1754 tractors at time of purchase at approximately $1600/each. Didn't do it because it was too pricey for me!

I've had some issues with my last two Massey tractors. However, if you get a good one, they are great tractors! If possible, I would try to do an extended test drive of the exact tractor you are thinking of buying before you make the purchase. Get the tractor engine and hydraulics hot and test forward and reverse and 3 Point Lift function. Look for binding lift levers and jumpy hydraulics. If all is good, you will probably end up with a great tractor!

So just a follow-up. I just got off the phone with Bruno's in AK. They offer free shipping to the lower 48.

1736 HST TLB - $33,300
-Large R4 Tires, Filled.
-WR Long 3rd Function Installed.

Another note was that Rear remotes are $1000 each.

So this route saves me $2000 in taxes but I don't get any "loyalty" from my local dealer when I have issues.

Opinions from anyone on this? Ordering a tractor from far away and utilizing your local dealer for repairs?

Dealer support is really important!!! Don't ask me how I know. What is your local dealer situation? Lots of Massey dealers or only one Massey dealer? If only one local dealer, I could see where you could endup being a low priority if you have any warranty issues. However, every dealer seems to be different. Also, my local selling dealers offer free pickup and return on warranty issues for the first year of ownership. Do you have a way to get tractor to a dealership on your own?

I would want to see many detail pictures of any piece of equipment that I was planning to purchase from far away, sight unseen! I was at dealership a couple of weeks ago buying filters. Saw, a tractor sitting in the yard. Looked awful! Covered with rust and all marked from what looked like chains. Like someone threw chains over the hood and loader arms to strap it down. I thought that it was a used tractor that they took in trade. Turns out that it was brand new and they had just taken delivery.

One dealer is 5 minutes away. That's where I saw the 1736. Talked with him a bit. Nice guy. Didn't want to give me a price. Said he'd call with a price. That was a week ago.

It's going to come down to $$$. At the same price it's $2000 saved in sales tax from Bruno's. He wants $1200 for the WR Long 3rd function installed and promised box blade and landscape rake at "cost".

Comparatively my dealer said "the only way to get 3rd function is run lines from a rear remote". And at this point I have no idea what what the local price is.

If it's close enough all told I'll definitely buy local.

If that local dealer cannot install some sort of third function, then definitely find a different dealer.
....At the very least, they should be able to install an electric diverter valve on the curl function of your loader.
... I usually preach that I bought my dealer, not my brand of tractor, but for saving $1000s I may have been tempted to shop further away.
