Hello everyone!
I have a pair of Massey Ferguson 20 Industrial tractors I have been working on lately, as soon as I get something fixed on one it seems like another problem pops up! Anyway, the problem is with hydraulic 3pt lift on one would not go up. The lift arms would stay in the down position regardless of where the 3pt levers were positioned. It eventually started working a little but was still and slow and "jerking" as it went up so I changed the hydraulic fluid flush and cleaned the filter as I have been told may help, after that it seemed to be working fine until I put some weight on the 3pt and it went all the way down and would not come back up. I took the covers for the PTO and the dipstick off and found a spring that looks out of place, it is the long spring going into part of the hydraulic valve. I can manually move the valve going down to the pump and the 3pt works fine. The hydraulic control lever coming from the controls seems to be working as it should, but the short lever going to the pump does not move to the lift position without a little help? Does anyone know how the spring is supposed to be held in thats out, or what has to be done to fix it? Also would the spring out of place even be the problem? I tried to post some pictures but I'm not sure if they came through or not.
Thanks for any help!
