Does anyone know if a diagnostic tool and software exists for the 2850m? Is it OBD 1 or 2, or something proprietary? Is there an after-market solution? I've got a an ECU light that I'd like to diagnose without having to necessarily involve the dealer.

No - the AGCO diagnostic tool is EDT but a dealer will need to hook it up for you. If the dash displays an error code you should be able to find the definition of the error code in the owners manual I think.
