I have a Massey Ferguson model 39 corn planter and the spiraled metal drop tubes are being held together with duct tape and aluminum from soda cans. I ordered replacements from AGCO and they are rubber and they plug continuously. They are so bad that I sometimes just let the fertilizer dribble from the auger to the ground. I'm currently at a loss as to how to solve this problem and would appreciate ideas on how to address it, i.e. replace the metal tubes and resolve the plugging problem. I believe getting the fertilizer along side the seed is the best way to achieve good germination of the seed.
