It's a real work horse but I parked it to eat lunch and when I came back I tried to start it and nothing, no clicking, no anything. Batt fully charged, connections clean and tight, nothing. I ended up running a new wire to the starter from the switch and it started right up. I thought the problem was temporarily fixed so I could finish the job I was working on. BUT! The back hoe would not move, it runs great, hydraulics work great but it will not more forward or back, it seems that the solenoids that tell the tranny to go forward or back are not getting the proper command. There is more. LOL Since I bought the back hoe I had to always have the safety override button in because one of the safety switches somewhere was triggered and I have no idea which one. The person I bought it from operated it this way and just told me to make sure this red button is in or it will not start and I never asked why. I only just recently learned the red button is a safety switch override. Now it doesn't work at all. I have tested that switch, it's good, I tested the ignition switch, it's good, I tested the forward /reverse switch, it's good, I have had many different people look at it and no one can figure it out. One person, after crawling under the dam thing with a test meter came back out and told me all four leads are hot going into both solenoids and that can't be. Anyone have any ideas? It's a shame to have such a nice running back hoe that will not move. I have 150 hours on a totally rebuilt Perkins diesel, my first attempt at rebuilding a diesel engine and I am proud of it, but it just sits there. LOL Help!
