massey ferguson 65 gas burner with fuel problems

Just bought o MF65 gas from a fella that is retiring from farming...
Anyhow over the last month while test driving it the thing fired right up and ran good. We ran it out of fuel while loadding it up and he put a gallon in it,fired up and loaded it. I filled the tank full on the way home,unloaded off trailer and that was bout it.Sputtered out,than died.I cleaned fuel filter and bowl,,fired rite up, but after ten minutes sputtered and died,would not start up.Sat for a day,fired rite up,10 minutes,sputtered n died,wont start up.Fuel pump is pumping,bowl is clean..

ANY IDEAS? I am new to tractoring but know basic mechaniching.(except how to spell it!?)

You checked for fuel filter, water in gas, water or crud in float bowl? My guess is the seller had some bad gas. I'd take the fuel system apart and clean it so you know what you have. That's a nice tractor though, will do a lot of field work.

I had that problem once. It was the coil.

Leave the fuel cap loose once, sounds like the vent is plugged.

I have A MF65 Remove the bowel again there is two screens. One is a stacked and a screen type. Also the points tend to corrode. Point file works great. I have abused this tractor and it still goes
