Massey Ferguson 65 gas engine help

Hi,

I am looking for the torque pattern for the G176 engine. The IT manual states to go in a circle pattern but I would think that it should be like the Continental TM engine where you tighten above the cylinders first and then along the left side at the push rods last. I have a manual from Jensales but for some reason the section for the gas motor is missing. Does anyone have that section of the MF 65 manual?

The other questions I have is where does the stud/head bolt go on the manifold side of the head? I didn't pay attention when I removed the head. There was only one. The tractor did not have the heat shields for the gas tank or the manifold. Would anyone have photos of these?

Start in center of head with torque wrench and work outward in a circular pattern, go in steps to reach final torque. When I worked at MF dealer engine was warmed up to 180-190 degrees and then removed rocker arms to retorque while hot. Never lost a head gasket when this was done. Head stud was in center just outside valve cover, was used to lift engine assy.

What was used to torque the bolts under the push rod section?

There was a special U shaped wrench for bolts outside by sparkplugs. I just use a long wrench to feel torque of other bolts, then try to pull to same tension. There are no water ports on this side, if you have any seeps is always on manifold side, retorqueing hot will usually stop them.
