Hi Everyone. I have a Gc2610 and have a oil leak at the rear pto shaft. There is a lot of up and down movement of the pto shaft and I was wondering if there is a way to replace the shaft bearings without taking rear end apart.

Not familiar with that tractor. But with that said. Does the transaxle have a rear cover that bolts to the transaxle case surrounding the PTO shaft?? Such as the example in the attached picture?? If so, then yes, the bearing and seal can be replaced from the outside. If not, the transaxle assembly will have to be disassembled for repair.

Yes, you can replace the bearing(s). There is two bearings.

You have to remove the rear cover plate. It has a seal for the PTO shaft replace that as well.

There is the PTO drive gear and a bearing on either side of it. Most likely will need a bearing and shaft pulled to get those bearings out if they a pressed in or they may slide out rather easy if they are worn. Make sure to drain the hydraulic fluid first before removing the rear PTO plate.

Thanks for the info guys. I was pretty sure that I was going to be able to get at the outer one by pulling the cover off but wasn't sure about the inner one. Once again thanks for the help.
