Tractor
A Fergie-MF 35 gas- Mf 165- Mf 6161- Unimog- Fiat 880
Ever since my father bought our first tractor, the Fergie, back in 1954 Fergusons has been the number one tractor on our farm.
My wife is a devoted quilter but not much interested in tractors. When she was making a quilt inspired by the 1863 Jane A. Stickle quilt I managed to persuate her to sneak in the Massey Ferguson logo. Here is your chance to make youf wifes watch TBN!

Holy bird crap Batman!!! What a job.

Is it just me or is every little colored piece of fabric individually sewn in? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Every little bit is sewn in by hand! Winters are not that long, she sews in the summer as well!
The creator of the original quilt is Jane A. Stickle, from Shaftsbury, Vermont. She died 1896, buried at Shaftbury Cemetary near where she lived, on Route 7, all her life.

Very nice quilt! It reminds me of the type my Mom and Grandmother used to make.

One of my favorite memories, is of a trip to Sturgis, South Dakota in '95. We were there for bike week; imagine 250,000 Harley's converging on a town of 5000 for a week...

We went in to town, to the Grange Hall. A senior group was doing pancake breakfasts all week. Here are all thes gruff looking folks in black leather waiting in line. Up comes someone who could have been my grandmother, probably in her 80's, selling raffle tickets. She hadd all these folks buying raffle tickets for a quilt much like the one in your picture, that was hanging on the back wall of the hall. It was an incredible quilt.

Turns out it is one of thier big fund raisers, selling tons and tons of raffle tickets to biker folk. After the raffle, they ship the quilt to the winner.

That elderly lady though, selling tickets for this beautiful wuilt, to all these leather clad bikers; the memory just sticks with me /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
