Massey Ferguson Tractors

Are there any models of gray-market Iseki that would have good parts support because they are a twin to a US Massey? And just as important - will the Massey dealer sell you parts?

No , just that a friend at work said that his dad had a 40-45 hp massey & he said he thought that it had a perkins deisel & I had heard here (or somewhere) that they had an Iseki engine. I guess Hinomoto don't build massey's anymore . It's hard to keep up with with who is building who's tractor. Kinda like the A/C business. You never know from 1 day to the next who bought out who .
Thanks, for the info jerry
Iseki started building the compacts when Hinomoto was dropped. If it has a Perkins it would be a utility tractor instead of a compact.

It could be a 200 series also. If so could be from the U.K.,Poland,Turkey.......

I was cleaning mine today. When I took the rubber mat off of the deck and washed it off, I could see Iseki on the bottom of the mat. Part of it had been cut away when the mat was trimmed to fit.

My uncle has a 97' or 98' Massey Ferguson 231 with the Perkins engine. I was using it the other day and happened to look at the manufacture's label. It said "Agco Corporation" (which I already knew), and it said that it was made in Turkey or Poland. I'm not for sure which one it said though. But I think it may have been Turkey.

Anyway, the tractor hasn't been taken care of. It just blew 2 head gaskets in one week (got the head shaved and that fixed it the second time.) The hydraulics barely work and I do mean Barely. The position control has to be all the way in the "raised" position and the draft control lever is what 'controls' the lift up and down motion. ALL the lights are busted out on it. He has his brake pedals held up with a piece of rope!! Only the left brake works sometimes.

The tractor ONLY has about 1075 hrs. on the working meter. But again- it hasn't been taken care of at all.

I really like how the tractor is "low profile" and how the foot throttle operates and its location.

I almost bought a 231 before I bought my Mahindra 485.

I absolutely love how the 231 Massey Ferguson looks and feels.

So did several million other people apparently! The 231 can trace it's lineage back to the TO-35, TO-30, even the TO-20. The basic concept really started to take shape with the MF 35, then was refined further to the immortal 135. With higher or lower HP variants, the small Massey Ferguson utility has been a hot seller worldwide for more than 50 years. Park a 431 next to a 135 and start making comparisons. When you find something that works, stick with it. Best part is, with SOME care and upkeep, these tractors will wear out the Energizer Bunny.

Exactly!! With regualr maintenance, or even occasional, these things will last for ever!! With out any mantenance, nothing will last too long!!

Simple....easy to work on, easy to understand how it works, easy to find qualified mechanics when you need one, and easy to find aftermarket parts when the O.E.M. parts get pricey.

Those atributes will get people to maintain equipment that might not otherwise.

Those atributes might also be the reason why they last with only minimal maint. in the first place.
