Ask to speak to your area service rep.

Re: MASSEY WON\'T FIX PROBLEM

I have a long background in sales & marketing. My advice is to NOT approach your rep or the company with a negative attitude. Mention the good things like how happy you were with your tractor and how disappointed you are that it is broken after all you heard about the reliability of the product etc . Keeping a positive attitude is going to get you what you want - these companies thrive on customer loyalty and repeat business (especially when they are not green, orange or blue!).

Good luck and SMILE... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: MASSEY WON\'T FIX PROBLEM

What Tonester has said is correct. The more negative and the more publicly exposed it is the harder it will be for them to change their minds. This should be between you and your dealer and the rep. if he is brought in. My experience with Massey spans about 25 years, if your dealer really believes that it was a factory problem and your case is presented by the dealer and or you in the proper way, it will be taken care of. A good dealer is very very important. And like I said, if it was indeed a factory problem.

The seal in question is one of the better designs. I can't see how that it could have been pinched when it was assembled. Having said that I can't see how that it would have taken 135 hours to show up either if it was damaged during assembly. I do know where your warranty person is coming from, the warranty ran out six months ago and this problem was not diagnosed prior to the termination of the warranty. It will be very hard to show that this is a original problem. After a warranty runs out, a problem without prior notice is very hard to get cleared. If you have a very good dealer that can make a good case and the part shows prior distress it may get covered.

Good luck with which every way that you chose the handle it and also with your dealer.

Re: MASSEY WON\'T FIX PROBLEM

Smitty, I too agree with Tonester. A nice polite letter doesn't always work, but it sure does sometimes. The Onan generator in my last motorhome failed after it was out of warranty and I had it repaired at a factory authorized dealer in a different state from where I had bought it. I paid the bill, but sent a copy, along with a letter, to Onan explaining the problem and they promptly sent me a check for exactly what I requested (more than $700).

Re: MASSEY WON\'T FIX PROBLEM

I have been nothing but polite and courtoues to all involved, the mechanic said it was done at time of assembly and the warrinty guy said no deal.So I have to croos my t's and dot the i's to ensure its taken care of.Headquaters is close by,the dealer tried so he says to help me out.The letter is long and true it could have been any other color green to blue. Thanks guys for the support and insight as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifI'll keep you informed..
