Massey ferguson TE20
Hello, i have just joined this forum to try and gain some help with a vintage massey Ferguson TE20 believed to be a 1947 model that I have inherited. Im trying to establish what variant it is which is proving difficult as it is essentially in bits ready to be restored.

I do have some photos which i will also try to upload.

The tractor has a 3cyl perkins diesel engine have no idea whether many were made with this engine whether desirable or not any advice appreciated couldn't find much information elsewhere other than they were built with these engines.

Serial number on plate is TED 135969

Many thanks

By the serial number it should be a 1950 model. I think the 3cyl Perkins diesel was adapted to some.

Thanks for all the replies appreciated. Anyone know what it would be worth in this stated?
Are the perkins diesels rarer than other models?

If I remember right Frank Perkins converted a few to use the Perkins diesel to demonstrate the Perkins is a lot better engine than what they were using. I would think they are pretty rare since it is a conversion rather than a standard production tractor that's now 65 years old.

The Perkins engines were so successful that Massey Ferguson bought the company in 1959 and it became part of AGCO. Yours is probably a P3 engine which was common on other vehicles at the time so spares are not impossible to find.

Thanks for all your help, im pretty sure the engine is a P3.
If I were to advertise would it be worthwhile on here?
