but i just installed a 400 amp service for someone last week. a 2" piece of rigid IMC steel pipe was $140.00 per stick. last year it was $58.00

a 10' piece of 1" sched 80 pvc pipe was 43.10 per stick. about 1.5 years ago was $12.60

and finally 2 weeks ago #6 alum XHHW wire was .38/ft, but yesterday was $.68/foot......nearly doubled in 14 days.

but theres no inflation
I was pricing PVC conduit in 2-1/2-inch, last week. $83 per 10-ft.

And its so rediculous. First they say its was due to pvc plant in texas being destroyed years ago, so prices went up. Now, no excuses, prices just keep going up. As long as const keeps going gangbusters, no one is refusing to pay the higher prices, so they wont go down. Lumber prices finally fell a few months ago, but now there even higher than last year’s ridiculously high prices.

I think concrete work is still reasonably priced, you could get some of that done while waiting for lumber to go down a bit more. Me personally, I would be building a pole shed house if I were building now.

Charlotte Pipe 1-in x 10-ft 630 Psi Schedule 80 Grey PVC Pipe

$18.09 at local Lowes today.
They've got 18 of them.
That's a big difference from $43.10.

nearest Lowes or Home Depot, is 2-1/2-hours one way. So, unless you’re buying a lot of stuff it doesn’t make sense. Particularly with the current fuel prices.

And complaining about a price on something is useless without qualifying.
I'm sure I could find a higher price, that was simply the closest.

I bought a printing press to make my own money. Hopefully will pay for itself soon……not

If my uncle can do it, I should be able to also.

Do you ever get sick of flexing in front of the mirror so much?
