I am curious what the max rpm you can achieve on this unit. full throttle for me is just a hair over the mid pto line, so maybe 2600? I am just curious as i do plan to mow, but thought it would have a bit more buffer.

Just as an example - My Kubota M6040 has a red line of 2600 rpm. PTO @ 540 rpm requires an engine speed of 2160 rpm. I VERY SELDOM use the tractor in any configuration that requires an engine rpm above 2250 rpm.

I've found that I will, usually, make fewer mistakes when going a tad bit slower. Not always the case, but slower does not require reactions and reaction times like a pit viper.

This is more of me just checking to make sure everything is working properly. finding a lot of different issues in the used machine. but full throttle is required to get to the mid pto 2000 rpm speed. just want to make sure that is correct

Is your throttle cable properly adjusted? (not too loose, working the top or bottom half of lever travel?)

At what engine rpm do you achieve 2000 on the PTO.

How wide is your snow blower?

Is the mowing deck 60", or wider?

Tractors are made to run at PTO rpm. If the load is too much you may hear a strain or see a bit of black smoke.

If your throttle hits the top of the slot and just barely makes rpm when mowing, let's check that cable.

We don't need full throttle to max rpm when not loaded. Drive down the lane in med with no PTO. You should be able to over-rev the engine before the throttle hits the stop.

mower is 60 inch, again i don't know what the max rpm is, looking for someone with a 26 to tell me what they can max out at.

appears to be 2680 to 2720 RPM, thats pretty **** close to where i am at. guess im good.

Confused what rpm for 2000 PTO has to do with 'max' rpm, thus which rpm matters. PTO rpm isn't necessarily where max hp is, and neither is 'max' rpm.

What rpm can you get it up to (that's your 'max') or want to, if that's what you want to know? Do you want your PTO to spin faster?

Again  not sure what are you asking and why? Sorry if I keep guessing your intent wrongly. You askin' what without why.

I simply wanted to know what the maximum RPM for the tractor is. the mid pto (2000rpm) is pretty much wide open throttle, i figured there would be a bit more throttle left after mid pto speed since my tach goes to 3500, but looking through the manual again, i found the rpm specs, and no mid pto 2000rpm is 2500 rpm on the motor, the motor is governed at 2600, so pretty much the tractor is wide open to mow. i just thought there might be like 500 more rpm past mid pto speed, there isn't. thats it. i only plan to be at that speed when cutting. i use about 1700 for everything else.

Relieved to learn that all makes sense now. Thanks for straightening me out. :) (I was about to feel stupid.)

btw, nice tractor (Mitsu 1.3L, not 3200rpm JD? ;)) If you want to mow new areas, some 1x/yr, fast growing season, etc, I suggest a 44"-48" flail mower with hammers. What it's been over up to 3/4" or so dia would make a pass nest week or so easy for the MMM. I widen my lane once/yr with mine (Betstco Med duty, $1500) and touch up with ZTR 1-2x the rest of the year. (Got volunteer buckthorn, olive, thistle, white sweet clover, juniper, poplar, willow, blackberries ...? 'BTDT')
