I guess "big guy" is relative, lol. I'm 6' about 250# and I am very comfortable on my Max 26xl for hours of work or mowing. I would definitely go with the mid PTO model even if you have no plans of using it right now. It's not something that is easily added later and most likely better to trade for one than do a conversion. I've had mine for 2.5 years now with no regrets. Of course it has it's limitations, but used within reason mine has served me very well.
It's funny though, I refuse to own anything else red. No clothes, vehicles, motorcycles or atv's, mowers, etc. But I did grow up with FarmAll tractors so tractors and implements are OK being red, lol.
