Any idea if a Max 28 XL will fit on a uhaul car trailer? Looking at a used one. I think the limiting factor may be the width between the tires, since the trailer is open in the center. Anyone able to measure the width between the inside of the closest pair of tires for me?
Thanks!

I measured my Max 26XL once when I was trailer shopping. It should be about the same. The front tires are about 38" and the rears are about 42" center to center. That is most likely too narrow for a typical open floor car trailer.

Thanks. I saw someone posted the opening on the open uhaul is 42". So these tractors would sit on the lip. Can't think of other options for renting a trailer to get this little beast.

How far are you towing it ? Maybe a tow company with a ramp truck .

Depending if I go more backroads or all hwy, 170-200 miles. I didn't think of a tow company, but being a large distance I imagine they charge a lot. I'll have to check with Sunbelt and United rentals. Most places seem to only have pintle hitches.

Lay a couple of 2x10s down the middle and strap them to the steel crossmembers? May have to double up to get even with the rails and add strength.

Good idea! That appears it would work. I wonder if I could get up those ramps still as well. They look fixed at the top.

Just rent a big enough u-haul box truck and drive it right in! Might even fit inside some of their enclosed trailers if you fold the ROPS down. Or find someone close by with a regular flat deck landscape trailer you can borrow. Does it have a backhoe on it?

^^ Problem with the trucks is that they charge mileage and that can add up quick.
