Has anyone found a aftermarket air filter for there MAX 28? I just replaced mine, it's kind of a cheap paper filter, no inner filter or secondary filter and it was expensive!

Unfortunately no. Not yet on that one. I'd certainly like to know myself if you do!

my 3016 has an inner filter tube and an outer paper filter. Just today, I got the outer filter but the inner was out of stock at the dealer. I probably won't go back and get the inner for a while as it still looks pretty clean.

The outer filter was over $50 with tax. I'm going to look for a replacement as well.

How often are you blowing it out?

I usually blow the air filter out after mowing or brush hogging, when there is a lot of dust in the air. I had 80 hours on my machine before it needed replacing. The filter seems cheaply made and cost $50.!

^ Yeah that! Cleaning the grills, radiator screen, around the battery box is a constant pain when mowing and such. Got to do it every couple of hours or engine temp goes up! I'm on my second air filter after 400 hours, but will need changed again soon. I do blow it off and clean it regularly like you, but its best not to blow it off so often, and can be "over serviced". Just squeeze the rubber dump valve when you do your grill cleaning. And be extra careful with the cleaning. I think the trick is HOW you clean it. Be sure to only use gentle LOW pressure air from the inside out. Don't bang it on something to try to shake the stuff loose. That will do too much damage. Inspect the seals on the ends carefully! Wipe out inside the air can with a damp cloth or paper towel- especially where it seals on the ends. Don't forget to clean the little rubber nipple valve on the bottom. Then put it all together.

There was another thread I found that says the Cub Cadet 7205 has a similar part number with "MA-" before the part number (3546050180025) and the filter LOOKS the same... but it runs around the same price.

Keep in mind the Mahindra 2015 uses what looks the same air filter part number (3546050180025) as the MAX when you read the thread.
