Max 28XL Won’t Stay Running

I have a 2014 Max 28XL that I just paid off and now it won’t stay running! Lol! It’s ran great all winter and today I was going to move it out of our shop to do some welding projects and it starts right up then shuts off. I think it’s the fuel solenoid and I remember reading that on here awhile ago. Any other suggestions? Where is a good place to buy the solenoid? Thanks

I had my tractor running for a few minutes, then I wiggled the wires on the solenoid and it shut off. I thought I had it. I started it again to take the loader off and it stayed running. I wiggled the wires again and it still stayed running. I’m not sure if that’s what it was or if it was something else like a safety switch. I have the seat that spins around for the backhoe and have thought that has acted up before. I will replace fuel filter soon too. Anyone know where I can get a service manual for my machine? Thanks

The Max models have a known problem with moisture in the wiring harness that leads to a few different problems. One of them is at the fuel solenoid. You'll probably need to replace or rewire the harness and/or connectors in that area. The solenoid itself may be fine.

i had mine go and i waited for over 4-5 weeks for a part from dealer 60 miles away and he was jerking me around so someone here said to got to bill's

talked to a guy there and he sent out the part that dy and it was cheaper thn the dealer who could not get the part and blamed mahindra - which may have been true - but seemed shady - slim shady.

part is expensive though...

Believe you can get one for about 30 bucks on eBay if you have a Mitsubishi S3L motor. Type in fuel solenoid Mitsubishi S3L.

Here’s a thread on how to replace. The solenoid has 2 coils. One that energizes when you turn the key, and then a holding coil that keeps it open when you release the key. It’s usually the holding coil failing and seems to be very common as told to me by my dealer who replaced it under warranty.

Max 22 fuel solenoid again!

Here we go again. My tractor has another bad fuel solenoid. This is #3. It starts and runs when cranking but dies when the key is in the run position. Called the dealer and they want 270 bucks. Ouch! Ordered one on Amazon for 50. It's a different brand. Maybe this one will last????? How do I...

Are there any sites where I can find a parts look up on my tractor? I did a search and didn’t find anything that was any help.

Id start simple and make sure it isnt your fuel filter. Mine goes through them about every 40-50 hours.

My Max 28 ran good all last summer and this past winter. Recently it started acting up again. Shuts off on its own while driving it but will start right back up again. I took the loader off and unplugged the fuel shut off solenoid. The connections were corroded. I cleaned it up used some electrical contact cleaner. We will see if that fixes it. Anyone have a part number for the fuel shut off solenoid. I see them on eBay for around $30.
