Max26 vs Mac 24

Hi Gang.

Bit if a dilemma. I am looking to purchase a subcompact for my 2ac lot. I plan to use a tractor for mowing.. Major landscaping.. Snowplowing.. Gardening.. Etc

I have it narrowed down to a Max24 which I like due to the solid steel construction and feel vs bx25/1720 etc.

The dilemma : Dealer has Max26 with 30 hours and is willing to let it go for $2500 CDN more then the brand new Max 24. Is it way more of a tractor? Would ya'll pay more for the extra hp and a little weight.

What do you think

Depends on the mowing. If it's your "finished" yard the extra weight won't help. But if it's just open areas you knock down in the spring or say no problem. Everything else; I'd go with the bigger one.

As long as the warranty is still good on the 26, it may be worth it. If your "major landscaping" consists of moving much earth, any extra built-in weight is an advantage. I don't think either weigh enough to make much difference on mowing. I mow with 3x the tractor of a Max. I'd expect a shiny new set of mower blades to be installed at no additional cost.

I did not know that there was $2500 CDN difference between a Max26 and Max24, did you check actual List?

30 hours is worth some negotiation. Max 26 will be better in snow with chains on all tires, as it's tires are larger. Max26 is a light tractor, especially without loaded tires and loader removed.

My Max28 is weighted to 3400 Lbs heavy, and is not bad on a lawn, especially compared to my L39.
