At 50 per hour it only takes 10 hours a week to pull in 500 bucks.
That breaks down to 2 hours a day 5 days a week.
I'd love to find a 10 hour a week part time job that paid 500 bucks .
For every hour that you actually work I bet you would have to spend at least another one, and maybe 2 hustling for work.
I guy I know who is a welder just branched out into the HVAC business. He has to charge about $80/hour just because he doesn't really get more than 15-20 hours of shop & field work in per week. The rest of the time is spent looking for more jobs, maintaining his equipment, doing paperwork for his business, and all the countless other things a sole proprietor does.
He is lucky because his dad just retired and can help him out when things get busy, but doesn't need to be paid when things are slow.
