May we always have an "Independence Day"

Let us all read this aloud:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic, for which it stands.
One Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

God Bless America.

If there is any American who cannot read this with pride in their heart, it is time to consider heading north or south and cross the border.

Just in case you didn't know, the original words were written by a socialist, and the phrase "under God" wasn't added in until at least 50 years later from when it was first written.

I love my country, but I can't help but think that God doesn't play favorites.

Thanks Dennis for your thoughts.
And why is it hardly anyone says "Have a Happy Independence Day'...everyone says "have a happy 4th"? NO ONE says " have a happy 25th" for Christmas...or any other holiday. I bet most young kids have no idea why we celebrate the 4th.

I make it a point to say happy independence day rather than 4th, I think it is important for everyone to remember that it isn't just a free day off that our kind government gives to us so we can eat hotdogs and watch fireworks!
