I just bought this old machine and started using it more and more. The whole time I have been using it though the lift and articulating actions seem to be really jump not to mention weaker than expected. The pump has a recent rebuild and is full of oil. The man I bought it from said it was probably air in the lines, is this legit and if so how do I bleed them? Other than air in the lines any suggestions that would fix my problems? What can I expect to be able to lift with this machine?

I have a 600 bobcat and had the pump and lines off. The unit is self bleeding and as long as the reservoir is vented there should not be a problem with that. I would have the cessna pump checked out. Mine will lift a thousand pounds quite easily. After this it tends to get very lite on the rear wheels even with the counterweight.

The chain cases are also the hydraulic reservoir. There is a cross feed tube that keeps fluid level for both sides, and 1 fill point. Recommended to use Dexron transmission fluid, using normal hydraulic fluid will cause drive clutch slippage and wear.
