I'm planning to build a metal barrel press / cultipacker to run behind my grain drill. This is just an idea and I need input and suggestion. I'm actually going to weld two barrels together to run behind a 10 ft grain drill. Then I will weld a steel plate on either end of the barrel. Then put a bearing on both plates, and run two metal pipes ( 1/18 in) bent in an A frame shape to a pint to connect to a hook on the back of the grain drill. First of all this would be my first time playing aground with bearings. Can someone give me a link or an item number for a bearing and a frame I would attach with to the steel plate. Secondly how do I keep the ends of the pipe in the bearing, since there is no axle running through the width of the barrels. I will be adding water in the barrels as needed to weigh them down. Also, any know of any good barrel places in or around San Antonio, Austin area. Thanks for all the advice in advance.
