This weekend the metal detector paid for itself again. So far I have found $1,100.00 of lost personnel items: two rings which my wife threw in the mud as she was falling and two pair of prescription glasses.
This weekend I was wiping my hot face with a cool wet towel and set the glasses on the tractor fender. I then got three loads of dirt with the FEL and smoothed the ground and drove 1/2 mile to the barn before I realized my vision was blurred. After looking for 2 hours and coming up blank in the foot high grass I went to the store and got new batteries for the detector and found the glasses in ten minutes. That was an exciting beep in the middle of the field.
The Metal detector is the new necessary tool for the weekend (absent minded) farmer, because looking for lost items seriously cuts into quality seat time! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
