I called a TNT dealer and originally was going for a 18x21 carport, gable "A" frame type for a JD4720 w/canopy 100" high. I figured the sides could easily be added later to whatever flavor I wanted. Did some math...callled back...heck I ordered a full-blown garage 22x26' with 10' sides (120" sides), 12 gauge framing, vertical roofing in black, 28 gauge red vertical siding, 10x10 rollup garage door, 7 windows (30"x30" hung), 34" side entry door w/window...cost is going to be around $7,077. They will trim out all windows, opening, overhangs, etc. with white...this setup will match the color of my house. The vertical arangement cost extra, but while you're laughing, consider that this is about $12 a square foot with 7 windows, entry door, and 10x10 rollup. Can I do it cheaper? All factors considered, time, money, effort, etc...no. The ground preparation is my responsibility....there's a slight slope, but the base will be a 3/4" "stay-mat" type crushed rock with smaller bits and fines that will work themselves together and harden nicely, providing a big storage bin for all my toys. I will post a pic when it's all done...could be several months in spring or so. Oh, the estimates for a stick-built or pole barn structure were astronomically more expensive.
