Hi All,

I'm up in new york and am thinking about a metal roof for the house. Has anyone experience ordering from metal roof wholesalers in TN.

Thanks a bunch

Amazing you should ask.
I am in the process of installing my roof from them right now. I went with the standing seam (image II) panel roof with hidden fasteners.
You can send them the dimensions or calculate it yourself. It's pretty straight forward. I had no issues with them at all. They always responded to any questions I had.

Let me If you have any questions, I'll help if I can.

Thanks for your feedback, good luck with your roof, I guess the only other question I had was about shipping charges, they estimated only 200 bucks, does that sound about right to you .

$200 is most likely the cost to ship it vendor direct. Depending on the product and the price per foot, the freight may be a good deal or not. Landed cost is the real issue. What panel are you looking at?

I'm in Upstate NY. In the past three years I've done two metal roofs, one on each of my two houses. I bought my materials from a local hardware / lumber store. He gave me better pricing the the big box stores and free delivery. I used 26 gauge metal compared to 29 gauge at the box stores. The owner also gave me tips on installation and his home phone and cell if I needed anything on Sundays when he is normally closed. My metal roof materials were shipped to him direct from the Utica supplier. I couldn't ask for a nicer guy and it kept the money local.

Edited the correct gauge. I transposed the numbers.

Off the cuff I would say $200 is good for shipping. Like previously said, probably direct from the manufacturer. My metal shipped out of Temple, Tx.
All 26 gauge. Haven't really seen this type of material in the box stores in this area.
Mueller has somewhat local offices here, prices were comparable but some of the trim styles I didn't care for, plus the sales rep for Metal roofing Wholesalers was much more attentive than the one from Mueller. (Could have been the fact that Mueller was extremely busy with post hurricane work.)

Be certain to go with a commercial grade roof if you go that route.

I also looked at metal shingles, price was about the same; just looked like too much work to me.

(tractor project check: I used the front loader to haul the shingles and dump them in the truck)

Guys,

I am also starting my research for two barn roofs and maybe a house roof. I would like to know what people are spending, on a per sq ft basis, for their metal roofs.

I am also in Upstate NY, around Rochester, so I've got tons of weather and a fair bit of wind.

Thanks,
P

In our area, the farmer's co-op will order it for you at the factory, the price was about $2.80 for square foot.
