Anyone out there own a Meteor? I'm looking at a 68" 3pt for my Boomer 35. Any experience or advice for the first time snowblower? Thinkin this will be easier than using a loader. Have one priced to me at $2495 with Hyd chute rotation.

Thoughts?

I have an older one, I think it is a 52 inch. It works great, the design to turn the chute is very crude but other than that I like it. The good part is there is no banks to push back and your driveway will not shrink as the winter goes on.

I have a 75 inch meteor with hydraulic chute rotations...it replaced a 60 inch meteor with manual chute rotation I had for a number of years. When I upbraded to a 3320 w/cab a few years ago I decided to go wider w hydraulic chute rotation. Never had a problem with any of them.

BTW..this picture was taken before I added 4 inch wheel extensions to each rear wheel

i have a 7' meteor and have years of trouble-free blowing ...take notice of where the shear pin is, get a few spares, and carry tools to replace although this shouldn't happen often if you are gentle, know the ground, and have made sure there are no hidden foreign objects. As I've noted elsewhere, HST is a godsend, while geared tractors can go through clutches with big/packed snow/ice (unless you have a creeper gear).

Your meteor will serve you well and, as you have obviously noted, is very cost effective

How tall is your blower with the spout? When you have it fully raised for transport is the total height higher than the top of your cab? I can't seem to find any specs on the total height.

My SIL just paid a similar price for a 68" Meteor with hyd spout and skid shoes. If your on gravel....from what I read, you may want the shoes. ;)
