I'm sort of in metric socket limbo since most sets would duplicate what I already have. I have a set of wrenches that stops at 15mm. And a 3/8 socket set to 19. I guess I need to buy them individually if I need other sizes. How large should I go for most maintenance tasks on Kioti?

Once major part replacement begins I imagine some larger sizes of drive and sockets will be in order.

What should I avoid as far a brands or socket materials go.

What questions should I be asking regarding maintenance for a TLB.

Do most of you run you equipment at the recommended rpms?

I've been running at 1800 or less to keep things slow and easy till I get used to running one of these. I already have an entry for the stupid tractor tricks thread.

Thanks for your time.

On my CK20HST when using the backhoe I generally keep the rpms below about 2,200. Fsster rpms are hard for me to handle when using the backhoe due to my inexperience. When I first started using the backhoe 1800 was about right. Operating the tractor I often set the throttle at the mark on the tach which as I recall is about 2800 (this rpm number is also shown on the specifications page in the CK 20 Workshop Manual, at 1-9) as the rated revolution. For snow pushing and lifting with the FEL and lifting and moving loads in the FEL 2,800 some times is required, especially on steep hills. Great little rig the CK20. Tractor on!

Socket sizes - I would say at least up to 26mm. I have most of my last ones from Lowe's. Their Kobalt line is reasonbly priced and seem to be good quality.

PM - Besides checking fluid levels & looking for signs of leaks on daily basis? Grease about every 8 - 10 hrs. Check the loader mounting bolts frequently when new, if you don't find any working loose then stretch the time frame out. I check mine now every 50 hrs. and haven't found any loose so will probably just to it when I do engine oil changes.

RPM - Try to run it as much as possible at the red PTO mark on the the tach. This is where the engine torque curve and horsepower meet if you put them on a graph, so it is where the engine will perform the best for most uses. If the tractor is new do not run it at any set RPM for extened length of time. Vary the RPM and vary the load on the engine work it hard then do some easy work. After the first 10 hrs. or so then run it the way you will for the rest of it's life. The only PTO attachment I do not run at the set RPM is the post hole digger, that I run just off idle about 1200 RPM.
