Started my 1010 (1992?) and pointed it up the driveway to move a little snow when I heard a metallic pop.

The go peddle stopped working and after removing the cover a saw the trunnion lever flopping around off of it's pivot.

Looks like the lever not broken but haven't gotten further , (72 year old fingers in the cold)

Any ideas/suggestions before I dig into it tomorrow

Thanks in advance

OK, you stumped me. What is a 1010? Is the go pedal an HST or hydrostatic FWD/Rev pedal ? Now if I figure that out what then is a trunion lever? Maybe some verbs would help us to help you. A picture would be a big help.

From your description it sounds like the linkage came apart for the hydrostatic drive. Could be a key and set screw or roll pin that failed allowing the trunnion linkage to become disconnected.

Old engineer in me into the doesnt believe it but the shaft from the trunnion into the hydro unit just snapped at the joint.

1/2 inch square rod in a low load/low speed part should last 100 years, not 560 hrs of operation.

Doesnt look good for MF durability or design.

Very experienced MF mechanic told me the only way to fix is to split the tractor and try to source a used hydro unit. $2-3 K minimum.
Will try to part out ( < 570 hours, motor fine and everything works, loader, mower deck, pound scoop
Any tips on parting out process?
thanks

By the time you sell part A, part B, ....and fool with all that, I suspect you'd be better off selling the whole thing as a parts machine to someone who already has one or maybe to a salvage dealer.

You can't put that pedal back in same position without splitting ttractor? Surely there are some empty bolt holes you can fabricate something.

I'm no authority on that tractor, nor hydrostats in general, but what I see in the parts diagram tells me the square shank piece that broke is (or was) actually part of the swash plate itself. I can't say without seeing the actual part, but from the drawing it looks to me there may be enough meat on the casting that a good machinist could bore that out, make and install a new piece in place of what broke.

You will, of course, have to remove and dismantle the hydrostat to get the part out on the table. If it's something that can be done, it certainly wouldn't be any $2-3 K, that's for sure. The question then would be what about incidental parts? I have a unit out of a Kioti tractor right now that's only ten years old and Kioti has nothing for it, parts wise. No gaskets, O rings, or any of that. Yours is actually Toyosha. Who knows what's available for it?

Can somebody please post a picture of the parts diagram that shows the part that broke? I ask because during my 40 plus year career as a machinist I have repaired many things on equipment that were considered unrepairable. I have also more than once helped people fix their own broken machinery by giving them some directions and advice for their particular problem. Maybe I could help in this situation.

Somehow I doubt anyone has the part in question available to photograph. I also suspect the one currently under discussion probably won't be "out on the table " any time soon.

If you're familiar with the AGCO parts website you can go to the hydrostat pump and motor page in the 1010 parts book as I did, and the drawing of the swash plate will show up. I can't link you to the page directly because the AGCO site won't let you do that the way some of the other sites will. It's only a drawing, but if the actual part is indeed made as depicted, there may be some hope for a repair. That is, of course, if the owner feels the tractor is worth the effort.
