MF 1020 Hydraulics no go

Trouble with my little guy, my hydraulics and FEL won't work. At first it was just when it started up and would "kick in" after a minute or so. That happened a coupla times and the next time it didn't kick in.Un and recoupled the quick releases, nope. Next I removed the filter and shook it out, and when that didn't work I loosened and retightened a hose fitting. Presto. Worked 5 hours pushing brush without incident.
Next morning FEL and 3pt won't lift, get fluid and filter swap 'em out, fiddle with connections disconnect FEL. all to no avail.
Any thoughts? Also where to get a good shop manual?

I have no experience with your particular tractor, but from what I understand it's getting an air lock after sitting a while, it works if you "burp" it and give the air somewhere to go, which is what happened when you loosened and retightened a hose.

Dont know where the pump is located or how it's configured but somewhere on the suction side of the pump is a leak or restriction of some sort. Remember air can get in where oil wont leak out.

Surely it's not just low of oil?

The oil level's up to snuff, before and after the fluid/ filter change.
