massey 1125
hello I recently purchased a 1993 massey 1125 (Iseki) and being new to this compact tractor game, I think all I know how to do service wise is check the engine oil. As far as what type it takes if it's low, no idea.

I have found a few fill caps in various places but they are either in Japanese or completely unlabeled. :confused2:

Right now I'm looking for how to check check all the fluids and if they are low, what type of fluids would go in there? If it's too much for words i can take some pictures?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have a PDF of the manual, I would would be in debt to you :)

In your situation I would go to a dealer and order an owners manual. It should cost 25-40 dollars. If you want information on how to mechanically repair it you will want to order a service manual for it. The service manual cost about 30-40 dollars. As for the radiator I use regular anti-freeze like you buy at wal-mart. If yoI have a hydrostatic drive, you probably have an oil cooler for the hydraulics. Oil cooler will generally be located in front of the radiator. There may be a screen (similat to what is in a storm window) located in front of the radiator. Keep this screen clean and fins in the radiator hose out or will probably tend to run hot/ over heat.
As for engine oil, I have a diesel. With all my diesel engines regardless of which tractor I use 15W-40 rottella heavy duty diesel oil. It is a lititle pricey, but good oil. For hydraulic oil, I use champion 4000 universal hydraulic oil. Hope this helps. The air filter should look like a black canister type thing. It should be about 6 inches in diameter and maybe 10-12 inches long with some clip type fasteners on it. If you pop the clips inside should be a cyonder shape cartridge air breather. Most generally you can blow them out with an air compressor blow gun. After blowing them out 4-5 times, it is best to replace the air breather cartridge. Hope this helps. Ask me anything at anytime and I will see if I can help

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

Find a Massey Dealership nearby and 'pop in' for a chat with their Service/Parts department. They should be able to advise and provide the fluids/filters & any specific tools (not all filter wrenches fit all filters). Oh, and check the torque on all of your wheel lugs, tighten every nut/bolt that you can see, grease every grease nipple (zerk) that you can find and spray lube anything that moves (linkages, 3PH arms, etc...) Best of luck and...

Enjoy the site.

Thank you Phillip and Wagtail for your help. The dealer is a bit far for me (over an hour) so I'll have to line up a trip with another purpose. If I can't within a month, I might just order a owners manual on line. In the mean time, I need to design a bracket to attach my bucket to the bush hog qt2246 loader that's on the tractor, so I wont be using it much until then.

As far as used parts go, anyone know where I can find a grill (or any used parts) for this tractor? I think models that will fit are 1125, 1140, 1145.

There are tractor/ag salvage yards scattered throughout the country. These salvage yards are just like auto salvage yards except they specialize in tractors and agriculture equipment. There is one in Bridgeport Nebraska that seems to handle a lot of massey ferguson parts. They call themselves mid-states ag salvage.
There is another ag salvage yard in Abilene ks. They call themselves Abilene machine. In my opinion the are a little pricey.
There is another ag salvage yard in Clinton Missouri. Don't know much about them, but some local farmers think they are pretty good. There is apparently on called mid-South ag salvage ( I think is in Tennessee or Alabama) and one somewhere in Pennsylvania that I have heard guys talk about. I would look on line. Just type in tractor salvage or ag salvage. If you make a deal, the salvage yard can usually ship it to you. Hope this helps.
