This thread is not ask for advice but rather to give a heads up on a steering issue on a MF 1145 1992 (ISEKI ??)
After much probing and prodding a friend had a steering issue that gradually got worse and he conversed with two different dealers and service guys to no answers but "Buy another steering unit for $2000."
Well after the steeering unit came off it was determined that the u-joint/spline connector that runs in between the steering wheel and steering unit was rusted/frozen........after a complete tear down (not the steering unit), clean and lube and the steering works better than it has in years......
the spline on the shaft was not allowing the steering input shaft the movement to go in and out (about 1/8") to operate the valve built in to the steering unit......
So for all you owners of an 1145 or similar tractor this may save you a considerable amount of money if you keep those parts lubed.....BTW, it doesn't show this maintenance in the manual.........
Just a heads up......
