Does anyone else here have a MF 1160? If so I have some questions as I am new to working with a tractor! Thanks. :)

Welcome jmwade36,
Welcome aboard to TBN ! Lots of helpful folks on here. I dont own a 1160, I have amongst others a MF 1040, but I will provide a link to tractor data on your machine. Also if you dont have any manuals yet they can be obtained through SSB Tractor.

TractorData.com - Massey Ferguson 1160

Maybe some of the other fellas can offer more help !

Thanks for the link. My Mom inherited her family farm and I am the new caretaker along with my wife. I have a manual but have some question I am sure aren't covered there. Thanks for the help!

If you have some specific questions, I think that I have a shop manual that has the 1160 in it.

Great! My most pressing questions concern the differential and the 3-point hitch. Is the differential the same as in an automobile? By that I mean does it provide power to individual wheels which may be slipping? As for the 3-point, can I use the pins from my bush hog with a blade or box grader? Thanks for all the help!

The differential is like a open differential on a car. Which ever wheel has the least traction gets the power unless the differential lock is engaged.
The pins. I guess you are talking about the pin that holds the third arm to the implement. Most of the time you can use the same pin. Once in a while you will have a implement that needs a longer pin than what comes with the tractor. I know that I keep a couple with the tractor but use a long one with a handle for everything most of the time.
