I recently purchased a MF 1230 with hydrostatic transmission. Aesthetically it is in great conditon, and seems to run well other than in Hare 2. When in Hare 2, running wide open at about 2500 rpm after a couple minutes, the tractor bogs down severely, and unless I shift into neutral the engine will stall. It progressively over a matter of secconds, gets slower, and the engine sounds like it is under load. Almost like the tranmission is binding. Running in turtle, or Hare 1, it will run without issue. Mid PTO works great, Rear PTO works great. Mid PTO lever is a PITA to engage with the belly mower attached, but with a little clutch feathering or luck it engages or disengages. I have a new lever on order as the one on the tractor is somewhat mangled (guessing the difficulty to engage Mid PTO isn't new) On a side note, the lever engages fairly easy when nothing is attached to the Mid PTO spline.

After the issue was experienced:
As a standard practice on all acquired used combustion toys I replace all fluids and filters, and inspect the oil sump for buildup/etc. (not done as a troubleshooting effort, just done, as part of what I do when I get something, someone else had, so I have a baseline for my maintenance cycle.)
Added Synthetic Rotella T6, and new oil filter.
I have replaced the fuel filter and cleaned out the bowl.
Degreased engine, transmission, undercarriage, and lubricated appropriate fittings and cables to easily see what is new or old oil leaks. (There are none)
Changed hydraulic/hydrostatic fluid, cleaned prefilter, and replaced filter. (I was hoping the filters were simply clogged)

Now I don't know much about hydrostatic transmissions so I am not certain what to troubleshoot. I purchased operators and service manuals from JenSales. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The old hydraulic filter had some rust on it as if it was not recently changed, fluid was dark but not abnormally so, consistancy was still close to new, it was not cloudy. It was also filled to the correct amount. I'm assuming this issue is related to a valve or hydrostatic mechanical issue.
