MF 1230 hydraulic outlet

A friend has a MF 1230 Hydro with a loader. He would like to use my logsplitter, which mounts on the 3PH of my Kubota and plugs in to the hydraulic outlet. The Massey has 2 pipe plugs above the drawbar and slightly to the left and has an unused lever for an outlet. The owner's manual is no help and his dealer has gone out of business. Can he replace the plugs with quick couplers? Or is it more complicated? I had a tractor with the same setup years ago, and it turned out to be a $700 deal to get that outlet going.

The tractor is 80 miles from here at the moment, but here is a page from the owner's manual. He said today that his tractor does not have the hoses from the outlet to the hydraulic system, so we are still unsure whether he needs hoses and quick couplers, or more.

The picture is how the factory remote hoses look from the rear of the tractor if it is so equipped. The bottom of the photo is what the actual valve looks like from one end. They show that end of the valve because it shows the small lever (#1) to change from double action cylinders to single action cylinders.
If the tractor doesn't have the hoses like the top of the pictures shows, then it doesn't have factory remotes.
Does your friend have a backhoe or has his tractor ever been setup for a backhoe? If it does or has ever been, then it will have a power beyond hose set. There would be two hose that are hooked together with quick connector by the right rear tire. If he has that, it can also be used to hook up a splitter.

His tractor does not have the power beyond hose and has not had a backhoe. Thank you for the information. I guess it is up to him as to how much he wants to spend to split wood with his tractor.
